US-Taiwan arms deal angers China
China has reacted furiously to the latest arms deal between the US and Taiwan. State media accuse the White House of 'arrogance' and 'double standards'. So just how serious is this latest row between China and the US? Our China correspondent Marije Vlaskamp reports.
Fresh attack on Niger Delta oil pipelines
Dutch/British oil giant Shell has cut back on its oil production in Nigeria after a pipeline was sabotaged on Saturday. Nobody has claimed responsibility yet, but the attack came just one day after the MEND rebel group (Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta) had endend its three month truce. Newsline asked Nigerian human rights activist Sunny Ofehe what consequences this attack may have on Nigeria's peace process.
