Zimbabwe expels UN human rights expert
Zimbabwe is facing another international backlash with the expulsion of the UN rapporteur on torture, Manfred Nowak. He arrived in Zimbabwe earlier this week to investigate allegations of torture by security forces. But authorities told him to leave the country today. The incident is remarkable as Mr Nowak had been invited by President Robert Mugabe's own party. But earlier this week, Mr Mugabe apparently changed his mind, according to Dutch Southern Africa expert Peter Hermes

Where are the women in race for EU top jobs?
An EU summit starts in Brussels today amid mounting speculation over who will become the EU president when the Lisbon treaty is ratified. Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, former UK premier Tony Blair and the Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker are all front runners. But as the race hots up, there's one thing missing: women. So far, not one female high-flyer has elbowed her way into the roll-call of front-runners for the new jobs of President or EU Foreign Minister. This despite calls from all sides for female nominations. So what's going wrong?

Catwalking to cleaner streats
Keeping the streets clean is a full time job in any city. Amsterdam is no different. In a bid to inspire residents in the north of the city to do their bit, members of the local community put on a fashion show with a twist. Volunteer models dressed themselves in rags - and decorated themselves in rubbish picked from the streets to drive their point home. The message was simple - keep your streets tidy and everything looks more beautiful. Paddy Maguire picked up his bin bag and went along to find out more.
