Sunday 12 February RNW - NEWS AND ANALYSIS FROM THE NETHERLANDS IN 10 LANGUAGES, WORLDWIDE 24/7 ON RADIO, TV AND ONLINE

- Low-country blues

On air: 12 September 2009 22:00

More about:

Curious Orange - 7 September 2009

We’ll take you into the Dutch heartland and introduce you to "low-country blues". Some even call it "polder blues". Cuby and the Blizzards put out a new cd. ‘Big deal’, you might say, but these guys have been around since 1967…and man do they still have pizzazz. We’ll play you a tune or two.

And we'll go even deeper into the heartland. All the way to the controversial church town of Staphorst where it's rumoured that its citizens live without the internet or the trappings or modern life. Do they - or is living charming in the Dutch bible belt? Find out later in the show.

To top it all off…we’ll invite you to an anniversary: 150 years of political journalism in Holland.
