EARLY MUSIC - Les 24 Violons In the second part of the series Millennium of Music we'll turn to purely instrumental music from the full-fledged 24 volins, Les 24 Violons, of the great Jean-Baptiste Lully with Capriccio Stravagante with Skip Sempé. Your host is Robert Aubry Davis.
Recently, the instruments of the 24 Violons du Roy have been reconstructed. The famed string players of Lully's orchestra - dessus, hautes-contres, tailles, quintes and basses de violon - offer a completely new sound to Louis XIV's favourite music.

Thanks to everyone involved in producing this music. I enjoyed it very much. More William Brade please. This is the first time I have heard of him. This kind of music is rarely heard in America. Even the Grammy Awards are being narrowed down to a very limited form of commercial music.
The music is lovely!
