Iceland's EU plans under threat
The President of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, has refused to sign a bill proposing to repay Britain and the Netherlands more than five billion dollars lost by savers when Icelandic banks collapsed. As the financial ramifications of his announcement continue to grow, RNW's Europe editor Perro de Jong explains the likely political fallout.

Army chief says Dutch should stay in Afghanistan

The Dutch government is due to decide in the next few days whether to extend its NATO mission in Afghanistan - it's an issue dividing both the public and politicians. Former commander-in-chief Dick Berlijn explains why he thinks the Netherlands has a duty to stay in Afghanistan.

Schiphol's future up in the air
Passenger numbers at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport were down nine percent in 2009, and cargo traffic was also badly hit. Dutch aviation expert Hans Heerkens says the statistics are part of a wider international trend.

Discussion

Bank index 10 May 2010 - 12:50pm / US

The recent banking reforms are a total waste of time and will not change the economy. The credit crisis goes way deeper than we think. Most of the blogs on bank index site www.dozenbanks.com are saying that the latest reforms will not help us by one dollar.

In what world has Iceland defaulted on it's debt? This headline is completely wrong and misleading.
