Air travel disrupted by a cloud of ash
Hundreds of thousands of people around the world have had their travel plans disrupted by a cloud of volcanic ash. Air travel in Europe is in chaos for the second day running after the eruption of an Icelandic vulcano which is still spewing huge ash plumes. Although some travellers on Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport remain upbeat, vulcanologist Jane Chadwick says nobody can predict how long this will continue.
'Bhutto murder could have been prevented' - UN report
A highly critical UN report claims that the assassination of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto could have been prevented. Pakistani authorities not only failed to provide the necessary security, but they also hampered the investigation into the killing. Newsline talked to Pakistani journalist Syed Juanid Hashmi about the report.
How to survive 500 lonely days in space
On Thursday, US President Barack Obama laid out his plans to send a manned American mission to Mars in the next few decades. But the European Space Agency and the Russians are already working on a joint mission to reach the red planet. Dutch psychologist Berna van Baarsen is working on the project where she's conducting tests on the future astronauts - such as what it's like to spend over 500 days in isolation?
