Newsline - 23 March 2010: Former Nazi Heinrich Boere is sentenced to life in prison. A Dutch gay rights group is set to sue a US general. And a journalist tries to arrest Tony Blair on war crimes charges.
Ex-SS officer found guilty
One of the last surviving Nazis still wanted for crimes committed during World War II has been convicted in Germany after spending six decades on the run. Heinrich Boere (88) admitted shooting and killing three Dutch citizens in 1944. He was captured after the war, but later escaped from a prisoner of war camp. Newsline asks correspondent Laurens Bovens about the case.
'Pink Army' to sue US general
A new campaign group, Pink Army, has been launched here in the Netherlands with the aim of bringing a class action lawsuit against former US General John Sheehan for anti-gay remarks he made recently. Testifying before a US Senate committee, he said the presence of openly homosexual soldiers in the Dutch military was partly responsible for the 1995 Srebrenica massacre. Newsline speaks to Peter Schouten, founder of Pink Army.
Journalist tries to arrest Tony Blair
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair had a bit of shock during his visit to Brussels yesterday, when he suddenly faced arrest - by a journalist. Mr Blair was due to discuss his current role in the Middle East with MEPs until an Irish reporter got in his way. RNW correspondent Vanessa Mock asks the journalist himself, David Cronin, whether it was simply a publicity stunt.

Being a gay man myself, I am very happy to see the pink army take a stand against anti gay stances made by the military. I was considering spending some time in the military, but it just seems to threatening to ones well being rite now.
