Holland demands end to climate research blunders

Dutch Environment Minister Jacqueline Cramer says she won't tolerate mistakes being made in climate change research, after scientists wildly miscalculated the country's sea level. The announcement comes after the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) also got its facts wrong. Dutch climate change sceptic, Professor Salomon Kroonenberg say the errors prove he's right.

US-China row over Nobel nomination

Tension between the US and China has been rising ever since US President Barack Obama agreed an arms deal with Tehran. Now China has warned a US human rights organisation not to nominate one of its activists for the Nobel Peace Prize. Larry Siems from the PEN American Center explains why Beijing is wrong.

Microloans for marriages?

The concept of microfinance was developed 30 years ago as a way of helping poor people set up small businesses - since then it's evolved into something completely different. Dutch researcher Liselore Havermans spent six months in India and found out most people use the money for ordinary household expenses.... and to get married.
