LIVE AT THE CONCERTGEBOUW week 4 ''...the Egyptian virgin Khamma dances in the temple of Amun Ra and is struck by lightning. Through her sacrifice she has saved the city of Thebe. Khamma, dancing until she dies, reminds us of the pagan girl in Stravinsky's ballet The Rite of Spring. This is Claude Debussy's Khamma, orchestrated by Charles Koechlin, performed by the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic under guest conductor Heinz Holliger.' [RNW-host Hans Haffmans]
