Further protests mar final days in Copenhagen:
Police have fired tear gas at protestors massed outside the Bella Centre in Copenhagen. Meanwhile, several environmental and development organisations were barred from entering the conference hall, denying them a chance to take part in the final days of negotiations.

Sri Lankan government denies general’s allegations:
The Sri Lankan general widely hailed as the man responsible for bringing the island's 30 year civil war to an end has accused his own military of killing Tamil Tiger leaders as they tried to surrender. The Sri Lankan government has refuted General Sarath Fonseka’s allegations.

Aung San Suu Kyi house arrest temporarily lifted:
Myanmar's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has met with leaders of her NLD party, after authorities temporarily lifted her house arrest. Ms Suu Kyi met with party elders for a few hours near her home to discuss changes in the party leadership
