HAER THE WORLD  "In this programme, three live concerts give a varied musical impression of Brazil.

The programme kicks off with singer/guitarist/composer Joao Bosco, known in Brazil’s popular music as one of the country’s most prominent and original singers of the past decade. His unique sound comes from Rio de Janeiro’s musical melting pot of bossa nova, samba and Afro-American music.

Followed by festive northeastern Brazilian sounds and rhythms by the Spok Frevo Orchestra from Recife, the capital of Pernambuco state. With exhilarating frevo carnival rhythms, the Spok Frevo Orchestra brings its audiences to boiling point.

Finally a tremendous performance by the versatile German singer Céline Rudolph. With her supple voice accompanied by Brazilian musicians, she brings a playful, wilful and surprising mix of Brazilian music, jazz and vocal improvisation. Her strong, dulcet voice is very sensitive, without too much pathos.
