Well, from Boston, where I live, and the Church scandal that brought a Cardinal down, the Prince of the Church Cardinal Law, it does not surprise me at all that the Dutch church had its scandals & perversions ingrained in the way the RC church operates. And it is hardly surprising the RC Church continues its rant re sex, straight or gay, since no one in the RC Church really understands human sexuality. So the RC Church opposes gay marriage, it opposes the pill, it opposes abortion. Its inability to understand human sexuality helps to further the aims of conservative, right wing extremists, who profess belief in small government, yet insist government rules in the bedroom, under women's garmets,and must expand to "protect", a way of life, the same arguments the RC church uses under the guise of religious teaching. The plain fact is, most people have learned to ignore the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings when they do not agree at all with them.
