Sunday 12 February RNW - NEWS AND ANALYSIS FROM THE NETHERLANDS IN 10 LANGUAGES, WORLDWIDE 24/7 ON RADIO, TV AND ONLINE
Anonymous 31 December 2009 - 8:55pm / US

The shallow nature of quite a few of these replies is fascinating. Surely by now, the majority of citizens must realize the following truths:
A) Your President is neither a Muslim lover nor an appeaser, he is however a Liberal Social Democrat elected by a majority ( unlike his predecessor ) who is ( or was ) tired of war ( as ever Democracies are )
B) This nation ( and the so -called "West" as well as a good part of the rest of the world is indeed seen as 'the Great Satan" by a MINORITY of Islamics who are both radical and committed to waging asymmetrical warfare on 'us" ( whatever "us" is defined as )
C) That conflict DID NOT begin on 9/11 nor will it be over anytime soon.
D) Casualties ( in small/large scale ) are NOT preventable regardless of what is done.
E) Your Executive Branch ( the occupant of the White House et al ) is keenly aware of the problem, the causes, the origins and much more. AND is unlikely to wage this war any differently than either its PREDECESSOR ( Bush et al ) or its SUCCESSOR ( as yet unnamed ) in spite of what appears to be signal differences but in truth are largely cosmetic changes.
IN Short.....The "West" for all its faults, has had nearly 20 centuries to review, analyze , think and deploy the instruments of POWER ( and make no mistake, this conflict, like all others, is ultimately about Power ) , in a very real sense , the Islamist Radicals HAVE ALREADY lost and what we are living through is the agony of their defeat and what they stand for.
Please try to keep in mind that a 13th ( and later 19th ) century ideological perversion ( Wahabism) is NO MATCH for the Wii Pluto Technocracies of the West...regardless of the dedication and/or fanaticism of the former.
