A lesbian couple in France has won a 10-year legal battle to adopt a child. A court in the town of Besançon has ruled in favour of the women, overturning two previous verdicts.
Early last year, the European Court of Human Rights found the French authorities guilty of sexual discrimination because adoption was not open to same-sex couples in France.
