Awarding tyrants with aid and support doesn't hinder them from oppressing their citizens. There are numerous examples in the world today where the UN appeases dictators, i.e. Korea, and numerous countries around the world. Appeasment perpetuates the dictators desire to control more and more. Let the Cuban government free it's people at the same time the embargo is lifted. Why must the Cubans wait for a social change to freedom. It is their right to be free of tyranny. Yes, lift the embargo and free the Cubans at the same time. Is that such a difficult thing to do? Mikhail Gorbachev compromised and freed numerous countries from Soviet control. Why can't the Castros do the same for the Cubans? No, they deserve their freedoms, now, and not at an unknown future date.
