Besides that, your logic makes no sense: We're children because we don't need an ever-present father figure for us to be good? Sounds like you may have it backwards. Being good shouldn't rely on having a parental figure- this is essentially what we teach children when we say that your character is who you are when no one is looking. The effort is to get them to be good without having to dote over them 24/7.
