The Scottish police have reopened the investigation of the attack on a PanAm passenger jet over the town of Lockerbie, in which 270 people were killed.
The results of the earlier investigation will be carefully reviewed to determine whether more people were involved in the attack after all. In 2001, a former Libyan secret agent was convicted to life in prison for the attack. He was released in August despite fierce protests because he is suffering from terminal cancer and has only a short time to live.
