Monday 13 February RNW - NEWS AND ANALYSIS FROM THE NETHERLANDS IN 10 LANGUAGES, WORLDWIDE 24/7 ON RADIO, TV AND ONLINE
Anonymous 28 September 2009 - 4:53pm
I submit that it is the system that is broken, not the burqa wearers. Stop paying people money to look for work. God forbid that people be held responsible for the fact that (1) they are out of work, (2) the manner in which they look for work or (3) the results thereof. All socialism is one group of people living at the expense of the others. The inevitable result is that nearly everyone believes they are entitled to the proceeds of some piece of plunder, whether that be "free" benefits to look for work, "free education", "free healthcare" etc. I know there will be many who argue against this statement, but before you do you should at least read the historical arguments for and against socialism. As for the arguments against, I highly suggest Bastiat's "The Law", which is probably the most calm, cogent and logical treatment. have a good day
