Dutch draughts player Ton Sijbrands has recovered the world record for blind simultaneous matches.
In Amsterdam's Olympic Stadium he played 28 matches in nearly 42 hours. Since July 2008 the previous record had been held by fellow countryman Erno Prosman. Before that the title had been held for years by Sijbrands. Of the 28 games he played in Amsterdam, he won 18, drew seven and lost three. He won 43 points, a score of nearly 77 percent, seven more than the minimum needed to win the world title.
