Monday 13 February RNW - NEWS AND ANALYSIS FROM THE NETHERLANDS IN 10 LANGUAGES, WORLDWIDE 24/7 ON RADIO, TV AND ONLINE
Hiram 22 September 2009 - 6:33pm
Rob, you stated "Free speech is absolute which means you can say whatever you want from silly things to offensive things to outrageous things. Anything else is censorship." If your statement is true then the Muslims have a right to speak freely and endorse terrorism in the Netherlands. If you were an Imam and you make a statement such as "It is Allah's will that all non-believers in the Netherlands are to be killed" and your followers go and start killing, would you be responsible for the killings? Sure, you would! Rob, freedom of speech is not 100 % in a free society. There are others who live in the so called free society and they have a right not to be slandered by statements that are not true. They are also citizens and as to Islam, a faith I detest, they have a right not to have Wilders speaking hate against them. If they, Muslims, are wrong in preaching hate, then punish them and it so should it be with Wilders when he preaches his hate towards all Muslims who reside in the Netherlands and are Dutch citizens. Without responsibilties, there is no such thing as freedom. It is called anarchy!
