Favourites Brazil have been dumped out of the World Cup by a lucky Holland, who came from a goal down to beat them 2-1 in the quarter-finals.
Five-times champions Brazil looked firmly in control in the first half, with Robinho giving them a lead in only the 10th minute, two minutes after having a goal ruled offside.
The tide turned in the 53rd minute when Felipe Melo deflected a Wesley Sneijder free kick into his own net.
Sneijder scored the winner in the 68th minute when he headed home from a corner. Brazil's problems were compounded when Felipe Melo got sent off five minutes later for stamping on the Dutch winger Arjen Robben.
In the semi-finals Holland will meet Uruguay who beat Ghana in a penalty shootout after drawing 1-1 following extra time.

Hey just joining, glad to be here! I'm Lucy and I like http://www.losehunger.com - lose hunger, working and currently being healthful :)
I've been concerned in some other forums and have found this location to have substantially much better subject matter, so it tends to make sense to ultimately submit!
BTW where is the option to change the time zone for my account? It's kind of weird having the time like 5 hours off lol
The Brazil-Holland game was great, and well deserved especially after the 1998 semifinal. I was living in Bern for the Euro 2008, where the Dutch took over the town and the mood was fantastic. Wish I could go to Amsterdam, but where can I watch the team in DC with other Oranje fans?! Hup Holland!!
Congratulations to goal getter Wesley Sneijder. Great team effort.
Congrats on the victory against Brazil! Bet of luck against Uruguay on Tuesday. Will be watching and waiting to drive around the city proudly displaying my flag of red, white, and blue stripes.
Wij houden van oranje!
If I knew how to contact coach Bert van Marwijk I'd do so, and tell him to motivate his Oranje team to keep playing the same way they did in the exciting Brazilian defeat. Whether the Dutch players win or lose doesn't matter to me as long as they play relentlessly hard. That is the most important thing! If Oranje does get defeated in future game(s), at least Holland can be proud of their effort. To paraphrase Kipling:" It does not matter whether you win or lose; what matters is HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME!"
