Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders says the cabinet will have a difficult second year in government. He says the coalition parties, the conservative VVD and Christian Democrats, will come under great pressure because of European immigration plans, possible extra cuts and instability within the Christian Democrats.
In an interview with Dutch daily AD exactly one year after his own party signed an agreement to support the minority cabinet in parliament, he said, “I hope that we can sit out the ride, […] but there will be more problems than we have encountered up to now.”
Otherwise he says he is satisfied with the progress made on the points that are important to the Freedom Party (PVV), which are security, reducing immigration, and employing more nursing staff.
Nevertheless, there have been problems. Last weekend Prime Minister Mark Rutte sent Immigration Minister Gerd Leers to iron out his differences with the Freedom Party leader following comments in a party newspaper that “immigration enriches society”. Mr Wilders says he still has confidence in the minister as long as the minister does what was promised under the Freedom Party’s support agreement with the coalition parties.
A recent poll showed that only 59 percent of Freedom Party voters still backed the government compared to 80 percent a year ago.

TAMMY : don't pay any attention to jokers who put you down for your honest comments about your true feelmgs. Geert Wilders is a friend to Muslim women as well as non-Muslim women. He sypathizes with their being bullied so by their husbands and Islam's harsh rules against women. Those who doubt the attitude towards them that makes their lives so oppressed should read the Koran. He is also a warrior on the side of anyone who values freedom and right to defend your own country from the onslought of religious fanaticism . I think he's a great person too, he wants us to have the right to make decisions about our own lives, have the right to express ourselves, and live without fear . GOOD LUCK TO HIM and his freedom alliance.
Anonymous : I hope that "racist" remark you made wasn't meant for Wilders. You should think again--either that or educate yourself before you shoot off your mouth. Wilders is not racist, he dislikes ISLAM , and Islam isn't a race. You think he's wrong to be negative about Islam ? How about learning the facts about that barbaric culture from the primitive past ? No civil person should accept it; no civil society should accept it. To support it is a crime against humanity. Wilders is right when he says it is a tyrannical ideology. Give him credit for having courage to stand up and fight a bunch of ignoramouses who wanted to go along with it and rob us of our right to free speech. I respect Wilders and wish there were more like him who rejects a religion that treats women like second class citizens.
I stand behind the FREEDOM PARTY and GEERT WILDERS it has been very
difficult for me to communicate since I have had a fractured right
ankle which was broken thru both bones. No matter how difficult it
has been for me to heal I have not stopped supporting GEERT and every
thing he does because he is a wonderful insperation to me. If it wasnt
fot GEERT WILDERS I would be a simple silly coward of a women with
a severly broken leg who could never speak up for other hurt or harmed
women or children but because of the courage of Geert I can now
life a life of FREEDOM and speak up to help women and children or men
or even myself about the dangers of RADICAL EXTREMIST and if it was not
for GEERT WILDERS some people may have become victims to violence and
death and I want to thank GEERT WILDERS with all my HEART and SOUL for
every thing he has done and risked to free so many women and children and
even men from the hands of the ENEMY.
