Dutch international Robin van Persie has been nominated as player of the year by the English Professional Footballers Association (PFA).
The Arsenal striker is the English Premier League's top scorer with 27 goals and is the bookmakers’ favourite to win the award. The announcement will be made on Sunday.
The other contenders are Manchester City's David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Joe Hart, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Tottenham Hotspur's Scott Parker.
