Published on 3 November 2010 - 5:27pm
More about:

Holland's national football coach Bert van Marwijk has included Robin van Persie in his preliminary selection for the Dutch squad. Nigel de Jong has will rejoin the selection in February. De Jong was removed from the selection after breaking the leg of Newcastle United player Hatem Ben Arfa in October and a series of other dangerous fouls.

The Dutch team is due to play a friendly game against Turkey on 17 November in the Amsterdam ArenA. Dutchman Guus Hiddink is national coach for the Turkish team.

The last time Van Persie saw action on the field with his national team was during the World Cup final in South Africa last summer. Since then the Arsenal striker has suffered from a number of injuries. Bert van Marwijk will announced the final selection on Friday.
