Of all European countries, the Netherlands is most at risk from natural disasters and climate change.
This is the conclusion of the United Nations World Risk Report which was presented on Friday. The Netherlands ranks 69th on a list based on risk assessments of a total of 173 countries. Its position on the list is mainly the result of the likelihood of a major flood in combination with the country’s high population density.
The Pacific island state of Vanuatu is most at risk from natural disasters, the Gulf state of Qatar the least.
