Two Dutch killed in Java bus accident

Published on 7 October 2011 - 7:36pm
More about:

Two Dutch citizens were killed Friday morning in a bus accident near Bandung on the Indonesian island of Java. A spokesperson from the Dutch Foreign Ministry confirmed Friday the victims were a man and a woman.

The two were in Java since 4 October with the travel agency, NRV based in Rijswijk. NRV’s director and a team from aid agency SOS International have gone to Bandung to assist victims.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known. Early reports from local media suggest the bus’s brakes had malfunctioned.

The Hague has released little information regarding the Dutch victims, revealing only that the woman worked for the city of Breda.
