More about:

Delft University of Technology has become the first university in the Netherlands to open a branch in China. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation Maxime Verhagen will officially open the Delft research campus in Beijing on Wednesday.

The branch will be devoted to the study of LED lighting, TU Delft said on Monday. This type of lighting is energy efficient and can dramatically decrease CO2 emissions. The core focus of the programme will be improving LEDs.

Delft University of Technology – Beijing Research Center will work closely with the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). It is the first step in cooperation efforts between Dutch and Chinese educators. Upon completion of their studies, graduates will receive a diploma from TU Delft.
