Strong winds kill Dutch kite surfer

Published on 19 August 2010 - 9:25am
More about:

A kite surfer from Amsterdam was killed on Wednesday when he lost control of his craft. Strong winds caused the kite's control lines to become tangled while the 26-year-old was flying over the inland Ijsselmeer Lake.

The winds blew the kite surfer towards the shore, where he was smashed full speed into the dyke and killed on impact. The accident was witnessed by the man's friends.
