The doctor son of former Bermudan premier Ewart Brown was convicted in a Los Angeles court on 21 counts of sexually assaulting eight female patients and a policewoman.
The eight-man, four-woman jury deadlocked on eight other counts in the trial of 40-year-old Kevin Brown, who had been a doctor at Crenshaw Expo Medical Center in Los Angeles. He faces up to nearly 17 years in prison.
Sentencing was set for September 21, the court said.
Brown was arrested in July 2008 after being accused of sexual battery against an 18-year-old woman in June 2007 and an undercover police officer who was sent to his office in early 2008.
He was hit by a raft of new charges after more alleged victims came forward following the publicity surrounding his arrest.
During the trial, prosecutors described Brown's methods, how he would flirt with his patients, ask to see them outside his office, make inappropriate comments and then conduct unnecessary breast and vaginal exams.
The assaults took place between 2005 and 2008.
Brown's defense attorney, Edi M.O. Faal, fired back in court that the victims' testimony was inconsistent, and that no one ever heard them cry out or ask the doctor to stop. He also accused the policewoman of lying.
Ewart Brown served as Bermudan premier from 2006 until last year.
