A court in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam has sentenced five Somali pirates to jail terms ranging from 4½ to 7 years.
The men were arrested in the Gulf of Aden in November 2010 by a Dutch naval patrol. They had been involved in hijacking the South African yacht Choizil off the Tanzanian coast.
Two members of the yacht's crew, a couple from Durban, are still missing and may be being held somewhere in Somalia. A Dutch attempt to extradite the pirates to South Africa failed because authorities there did not want to prosecute them.
