Senior Dutch judge resigns over Wilders case

Published on 2 July 2011 - 12:25pm
More about:

An Amsterdam judge has resigned saying that he was treated "scandalously" in the early stages of the trial against MP Geert Wilders. Judge Tom Schalken was on the initial panel of judges, who were taken off the case on accusation of influencing witness.

Mr Schalken said he had waited to speak out until the Wilders case was over. It ended last month with the full acquittal of the anti-Islam MP over hatemongering charges. The court observed that Mr Wilders had made "rude and insulting" statements, but that he had remained within the law. By resigning as a judge, Mr Schalken told daily NRC Handelsblad, "I too can finally use my freedom of expression".

The former magistrate described how he was showered by "hatred and derision" for his part in the trial, and said it made him too embarrassed to be a judge any longer. Mr Schalken was involved in bringing Mr Wilders to court and was severely criticised for dining with a defence witness during the trial. He is 67 and was a magistrate for 30 years.

Good Riddance is far too feeble a statement for the calumny inflicted by this 'judge'.

"...he was showered by "hatred and derision" for his part in the trial, and said it made him too embarrassed to be a judge..."
Well then, the idiot should not have said and done what he did. He has ONLY HIMSELF to blame. Unless of course, he was led on by some eminence gris.

I would like to see a full inquiry into 'The Wilders Affair', including how immigrants - inimicable to the Dutch way of life - belonging to an organization which is the wellspring of hate, which proudly preaches violence, far from being investigated itself, managed to 'project' ITS faults onto a native, loyal, true Dutchman, even a Member of Parliament.

No, it is (now Meneer) Tom Schalken who has, with his colleagues brought world opprobrium on Holland for no good reason. He has caused 'Dutch Justice' to become a new pejorative term, which is totally unfair to free-minded Dutchmen.

Only a sweeping review, with blame attaching itself to ALL the guilty parties, and with concomitant punishment, which should include severe prison terms for crimes of judicial bias/corruption/malfeasance/treason, would restore any semblance of honour to Justice in Holland.

But where will you find even ONE judge honest enough, and trusted by the people to lead such an inquiry? Seemingly, they have, as a group, sold their souls to the WORST of socialism/communism/islamism.

The Dutch have the saying: "Wie een hond wil slaan vindt een stok".
"He who wants to beat a dog will find a stick". That 'whatever it may be' is punishable by law, in the end, is preaching to the converted.
Freedom meaning: Being able to do, say, think, choose whatever you want. Not being controlled or limited in any way, is a sophism. The thought alone, however, is often enough to send oneself and a multitude of fellow human beings, on a wild goose chase. Just another form of violence. And until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages. All in all, a Dutch civilisation, to me, seems like a good idea.

1 ° Juiz Tom Schalken, co-author of the decision to prosecute me, has a habit of discussing my trial and argued his case in elegant dinner party for intellectuals.

* Is my
( The attitude of the Schalken is against professional ethics, legal. Punishable by law.)

2° Juiz Tom Schalken had dinner with my witness, Mr. Jansen - note that he was one of only three witnesses whom I was allowed to call - three days before Jansen was to be questioned by the court. During this dinner, Mr. Schalken trying to influence Mr. Jansen. The fact that he could not is irrelevant.

* Is my
( This attitude of Schalken is called corruption, is a crime punishable by law.)
* Is my
(He is 67 and was a magistrate for 30 years? No more Mr. Schalken will now for reform!)

The Netherlands has laws in regard to "Freedom of Speech" (Freedom to express opinions). The Netherlands does however, not! have a law regarding the "Freedom for Speech/expression".
In the Netherlands speech (expression) is limited, is prosecuted and is censured. There is at least one foundation which is active in this limiting, prosecuting and censuring.
This foundation (Stichting) is known by the name 'CIDI' (Centrum Informatie en Documentatie Israël): http://www.cidi.nl/

Believing the thought(s) that one can communicate in speech and/or writing in a free manner, is foolish and propagating it; a hoax.

The judge was embarrassed was he ? It is ridiculous.He should really be feeling shame for dining with a witness.But modern prideful Dutchmen do not know what shame is anymore. And he felt his freedom to speak about it was restricted for the past 2 years & thinks he was "showered with hatred & derision "? He should try the loss of freedom to move about freely in your own country & needing body guards 7 days a week/24 hours a day (for years) just to stay alive,as Wilders needs to do (all because Muslims don't like what he says or believes). The judge would then come to know more than a little embarrassment to his pride . I do not feel sympathy for Mr. Schalken . I say Good Riddance to such a wimp & cry-baby.

Well that's a stupid move, to resign from a position where he has influence to a state of no influence, an ordinary Joe like the rest of us. If I were him I would have used his position to attack and discredit the PVV Fascist. Why do the Dutch always do this, nobody cares what you say now.
