Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands will be paying a state visit to Turkey from 13 to 15 June, a spokesperson has announced.

The trip is part of celebrations marking 400 years of diplomatic ties between the Netherlands and Turkey. The Queen will visit Ankara and Istanbul, and attend a performance by Dutch dance company Nederlands Dans Theater in Istanbul on 14 June. 

Queen Beatrix last visited Turkey in 2007. Turkish President Abdullah Gül is currently in the Netherlands on a state visit, also to mark the 400th anniversary.
