After a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates, Queen Beatrix arrived in Oman on Tuesday morning for a three-day state visit to the sultanate.

The royal visit was originally scheduled to take place in March, but was postponed due to political unrest.

Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal says sufficient progress has been made since then to reschedule the state visit.
