PSV goalkeeper Tyton discharged from hospital

Published on 20 September 2011 - 9:15am
More about:

PSV Eindhoven’s goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton has been discharged from hospital. The Polish player suffered a serious concussion during Sunday's Premier League home match against Ajax.

“His situation is stable,” said club doctor Rolf Timmermans. PSV expect to announce within days how much time Tyton will need to fully recover.

Half an hour into play during the match last Sunday, he collided with team mate Timothy Derijck and remained unconscious for some time. He was taken to the neurology department at Eindhoven hospital. A scan of his skull and neck showed no fractures.

Khalid Sinouh took over in goal after the match had been stopped for 15 minutes before Tyton could be moved. Derijck had also been hurt but was able to continue. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

PSV Eindhoven are in fifth place in the league.
