Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will visit the Netherlands before the end of 2011. He had been scheduled to make the visit in June 2010, but it was cancelled because of the fall of the Dutch government.
Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal is on a tour of the Middle East. He confirmed the present Dutch government’s invitation on Tuesday when he met Mr Abbas in Ramallah in the West Bank. “He was pleased to accept the invitation,” Mr Rosenthal said after the meeting. The exact date for the visit has yet to be decided.
