Norway killer was in London to hear Wilders

Published on 26 July 2011 - 12:45pm
More about:

Anders Behring Breivik, the man behind the Oslo bomb attack and the shooting massacre on the island of Utøya, was in London in March to hear Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders speak.

According to British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, Breivik met with members of the extreme right-wing organisation the English Defence League (EDL) during the visit. The paper’s source is Daryl Hobson, who organises demonstrations for the EDL.

The British paper also quotes an anonymous EDL source who states that Breivik had online contact with members of the organisation:

“Geert Wilders was a high-profile anti-Islamic politician, coming to Britain. Everyone was raving about it... I remember he [Breivik] was on Facebook saying that he felt he had to come over... If this bloke was coming all the way from Norway, the leadership would have wanted to meet him.”

EDL leader Stephen Lennon insists that has never met Breivik. In the aftermath of the Norway attacks, British Prime Minister David Cameron has ordered an urgent review of the threat posed by far-right extremist groups.

Mr Wilders has distanced himself from the EDL and has said in the past that he had no contact with the British movement. Nevertheless when the Dutch politician was invited to screen his anti-Islam film Fitna at Britain’s House of Lords last March, hundreds of EDL demonstrators gathered in a show of support. A handful of EDL activists even travelled to Amsterdam last October to support Mr Wilders during his hate speech trial.

Here is an excerpt from the EDL website regarding Breivik. I cannot say that I’ve been a fan, but what is said here seems more honest and makes more sense than what smarmy reporters and politicians have been saying when they try to shift the responsibility for Breivik’s actions to those whose opinions they don’t like:
“If these pathetic and sensationalist journalists had bothered to give the due respect to Norway, its readers and the truth, they would have read the entire writings of Brievik and reported the whole story. They would see that Brievik talks about the EDL in a negative light because of our anti-extremist stance. They would have reported the facts, they would have reported our history of being anti-fascist, anti-violent and anti-extremist. They would have reported that Brievik also states on page 1438 of his document, ‘The EDL are in fact anti-racist, anti-fascist and anti-Nazi. They have many members and leaders with non-European background (African and Asian)…EDL and KT (Brievik) principles can never be reconciled as we are miles apart ideologically…The EDL harshly condemns any movement that use terror as a tool, such as the KT. This is why, we, the KT, view the EDL as naïve fools.’”

Well said Sassan this eslaporte is an idiot.
If anyone is to blame politically it's the EU multiculti fail brigade with the ridiculous social security sytem that attracts these lazy unskilled backward imports who have no intention of every integrating

Anonymous 28 July 2011 - 10:05am

Everything you say about Wilders is wrong Eslaporte- as a matter of fact- what you say about everything else is incorrect also. You are one ignorant dummie. Wake up and learn the truth. Once you realize the facts you will support Wilders, who is doing what he's doing to HELP Holland and all of Europe.

Everything YOU say Sassan, is RIGHT ! You have gained some wisdom, and can understand how brave Wilders has been, and been risking his life for all of us who demand our rights and freedom. Again : what Wilders says about Islamization is absolutely right .

Anonymous 28 July 2011 - 9:57am / USA

You are WRONG about Geert Wilders Eslaporte. As a matter of fact, everything you say is incorrect. Many people believe in Wilders and admire him but they don't get crazy and go on a shooting spree. That Norway massacre was caused by one loner's fantasy and wrong interpretation of freedom fighters like Wilders. What people like you need to do is take an interest and educate yourself on these subjects. Only ignorance makes you see things the way you do, because if you really understood Wilders and his agenda you would appreciate him, not condemn him. HE and his party are not the "extremists and bunch of radicals" - Islamists who want to impose their fanatical religious culture on European countries are the "bunch of radicals, and THEY are the ones to fear. Be glad for Wilders and take what he says as a warning--everything he says about Islam is true. Islam is a backward hate-cult mascaradeing as a religion and it is hostile to non-Muslims. Everywhere Islamists go they cause trouble. You should follow Wilders example and have the courage to tell the truth about Islam. He's helping your country- you fool-and YOUR attitude is suicidal if you care about keeping your freedom - your country.

Sassan 27 July 2011 - 1:23pm / USA

Eslaporte: You are an utter idiot and either an Islamic fascist or Islamic fascist multiculturalist justifier. Mr. Wilders simply states the truth: the gravest threat to humanity and the west in the 21st century is Islam. I speak as someone who was "born" a Muslim and now an atheist - someone under Islam who should be executed for being an apostate.

This terrorist in Norway also admired Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Pat Condell. Are they at fault too? It is ridiculous to try to equate people to this terrorist when there are no logical connections to be made. The sadomasochistic and fascist multiculturalist left are now trying to stifle free speech as it is apparent. We must not allow these fascists to shift the debate and facts away from the real threatens Islam poses to humanity, to their own populace, and to the west. In the U.S. - fortunately our Muslims for the most part assimilate. In Europe - unfortunately it is not like that. We must keep our eye on the ball and not lose focus on the evils of Islam.

eslaporte 26 July 2011 - 3:59pm

No matter how far he runs ... Wilders cannot escape this one.
One cannot use language of threat and danger and not expect some kind of response from someone: "Our country is being Islamified" - "a violent ideology is taking over Europe" - "Islam is like Nazism." Is the "Left" still responsible for the killing of Pim Fortuyn? Wilders also blames the "Left" for the "Muslim invasion" and is allied with "Islamic supremacism" to "destroy Western civilization."
None of these accusations against Muslims and the Left are actually true, but Wilders is party responsible for this "new" terrorism. So is Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh. Wilders is a radicalized individual himself who is allowed to freely travel and radicalize others. We need to understand that "radicalization" and terrorist acts are not "just for Muslims only."
The first policy should be to limit the travels of Geert Wilders and members of the PVV. People that seek to radicalize others into committing terrorist acts should not be allowed to freely travel.
The Dutch people are actually is great danger, so as long as Wilders remains a part of Dutch politics. The only good that can come from this horrible act of counterjihadist terrorism is that means an end to Wilders reign of hate and fear - and the Dutch people - and all of Europe - are fee of this threat posed by this Wilders the extremist and his bunch of radicals in the PVV.
