'No future for Dutch Orthodox Jews’

Published on 6 December 2010 - 9:12am
More about:

Prominent VVD politician Frits Bolkestein believes there is no future for 'active' Jews in the Netherlands. The conservative politician made his remarks in an interview with freesheet De Pers.

In the interview, Mr Bolkestein says that when he talks about active Jews he means those who are recognisable as such, for instance Orthodox Jews. The former EU Commissioner says there is no future for this group in the Netherlands because of "the anti-Semitism among Dutchmen of Moroccan descent, whose numbers keep growing''.

He feels that this group of Jews should encourage their children to emigrate to either the United States or Israel, because he has little confidence in the effectiveness of the government's proposals for fighting anti-Semitism.

Earlier, Mr Bolkestein made similar statements in Het Verval (The Decline) by Manfred Gerstenberg, a recently published book about Jews in the Netherlands. Frits Bolkestein was political leader of the current coalition party VVD between 1990 en 1998. He later served as European Commissioner from 1999 until 2004.

A Modest proposal

I propose that for every Jew forced to leave Europe by Moslems anti-Semitism, one European Moslem be killed.

David Catleugh 8 December 2010 - 9:02pm / UK

Send them to England. I'd rather have more Judaeism than more Islam.

hans77 7 December 2010 - 3:25pm / Germany

So this time Netherland do nothing against the new Nazis but gave them money, food and a house? In some years the Christs must go!

Ares 7 December 2010 - 7:43am / Detroit, USA

I find it funny because the Jews are the ones who opened up the West to Third World immigration and now it's going to bite them too. But if they must migrate somewhere then migrate to Israel. We already have too many Jews here in the US.

Shayne 8 December 2010 - 5:31am / USA

Who the hell are you to decide that there are too many Jews in America? With less than 10 million Jews in America, it's less than .3% of the population. Keep your biases, jealousies and anti-Semitism to yourself. Or else move the hell away from here!

alanposting 8 December 2010 - 10:43am

Yes .3% of population, but 90% of influence, both political and economically.

Anonymous 7 December 2010 - 2:54pm / Lalaland

All the Dutch Jews are to stay in the Netherlands, where they have been living for generations and ages. It is their country and they are rooted there, and belong there. Shall we judge a country by the majority, or by the minority? By the minority, surely.

SandraV 7 December 2010 - 1:52pm / nederlands

Too many Jews in USA you say? Perhaps you should leave the USA and move to an Islamic land then. The Jewish Americans are where they are suppose to be, home in USA. The Dutch jews here are also where they are suppose to be, home and not going anywhere. If people don´t like it, nobody is stopping them from leaving.

Cromulent 6 December 2010 - 9:20pm / USA

These are just the wages of Islam.

Harry30403 6 December 2010 - 9:02pm / Brazil

Wow, hmmmm, who to choose the intelligent nobel winning Jews or the, savage, inbred, 7th century, low life, moslems. Tough choice. ,

Hiram2 6 December 2010 - 1:28pm

"He feels that this group of Jews should encourage their children to emigrate to either the United States or Israel, because he has little confidence in the effectiveness of the government's proposals for fighting anti-Semitism."..........Not only should this specific group of Jewish people emigrate to Israel and the U.S., but all Jewish people should. The Europeans have not been fighting anti-Semitism because they are and have been anti-semitic for hundreds of years. History has proven the case to be so and history will repeat itself, again. Leave while you have a chance. You will not like the train ride in the cattle cars and it will be one-way ride. Anyway, the land of Israel is the true home of the Jewish people. P.S. Don't forget to take your wealth with you because as sure as the sun rises in the East and the sun sets in the West, they will take the gold from your mouth at the final destination. If they did it before because of their intense hatred for the Jewish people, they will surely do it again.

alanposting 6 December 2010 - 9:04pm must do nothing all day long but let garbage float around in your head. Please get out and get some fresh air... I really truly believe through your posts you need some serious head work.

Hiram2 7 December 2010 - 6:57am

And, what would know about "serious head work"?

alanposting 7 December 2010 - 12:05pm

I know enough about it, that you need it bad!

Hiram2 7 December 2010 - 6:01pm

olanposting, from your previous posts, I somehow figured a person with a associate degree in sociology would know enough about it. Should you ever attempt to get a BA or the big Masters degree, you will find the others have different belief systems from yours. It has been said when someone earns a masters degree that he or she (depending one's orientation) has become enlightened. Don't you think it is time to earn at least a BA or maybe a masters and see the world of different cultures. Elonposting, apply for college grant as a minority and be all you can be. Join the Marines!

alanposting 7 December 2010 - 11:21pm

Wrong again Hiram1......BA here and that's how i know you need some serious therapy.

SandraV 6 December 2010 - 2:32pm / Nederlands

Hiram, we should never let these bigots who breed anti semitism think they will ever again be able to get away with another Holocaust again. We will never allow ourselves to become victims of hate again, never. USA will never ever allow that to happen to Israel, or to the Jewish people in Europe. the jewish people are much tougher in this generation then ever, they fight back hard now. Israel can now defend itself and it will, also with USA back up. Id like to see them try to force me on a cattle car, someone would get a foot up their arse and much more. lol

Hot yepthomi 27 April 2012 - 4:15am / India

Likd the wy u reply that heram, may God bless isreal . Let prospr and success alway be on isreal side , let ll ur enemy fall before u trmblin with fear like the days of mosses and joshua.

Hiram2 6 December 2010 - 5:46pm

SandraV, I agree with you 100% but those Jewish people who do not leave will truely suffer as those who died in Germany. Europeans have not changed. Their hate was shown again when the French expelled the Roma (who were European citizens) and the British when they denied Wilders ( Who is European) from travelling freely within the boundries of the EU. When the right person takes control of the EU, those who are viewed as Jews, Muslims or Roma will suffer. After they cleanse their union of Jew, they will do the same with the Muslims. The Europeans as a whole are dangerous!

Anonymous 6 December 2010 - 1:00pm / Lalaland

One can see the future and it works. There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it hardly becomes any of us to talk about the rest of us.
The highest result of education is tolerance.

Hiram2 7 December 2010 - 6:11pm

"The highest result of education is tolerance."......Lalaland, I advised him/her to go back and get the highest education possible; but, his/her lack of tolerance for those who do not support his belief system is zero and a higher education is not possible. I even advised oleoposting to join the Marines to get the best education 'anyone" can get but I don't think he will because it requires a Written test without any pictures to guide him/her through the two page quiz.

alanposting 6 December 2010 - 1:09pm

...and what about if you forget the past, you have no future.

SandraV 6 December 2010 - 12:07pm / Nederlands

I am sure Geert Wilders does not agree with Frits Bolkestein. `Why should the jews have to leave their home because of hateful anti-Semitism by second generation immigrants? kick the second generation immigrants out by stripping them of their dutch passport and let them go back to their parents land where they can practice their sharia law all they want to without forcing sharia law upon innocent people who try to live in peace.

alanposting 6 December 2010 - 10:21am

What he should be recommending is the "orthodox" anything should stop brainwashing their children, causing them to be stuck in such un-truths and mindlessness lifes......What is child abuse, if it does not include brainwashing? What, its not ok for "cults" to brainwash but it is ok to brainwash children into such meaningless controlled hateful lifes that Moroccan and Orthodox Jews represent. You can't bring 12th century narrow minded religion and morality into a 21th century tolerant world period.

Hiram2 6 December 2010 - 1:43pm

"You can't bring 12th century narrow minded religion and morality into a 21th century tolerant world period."....Wow, the 21th century is tolerant! Is it really? Let me see now. We have millions of innocent humans dying from diseases from around the world because we turn our heads to fighting the diseases; we turn our heads to the murder of millions in the Congo because they don't have any oil or gas for us to steal; we allow millions to starve from hunger because we are too greedy to share our food with them. It appears we in the 21th century are not as tolerant as we think we are. It also appears we use religion as a blame for our humanistic, intolerance for those who are truely in need of help. No one has been brainwashed. It is the nature of man.

CLS 7 December 2010 - 8:45am / USA

Seems you hate your fellow humans just as much as you believe everyone else does. It's obvious you can't see the good that is done in this world because you're blinded by your own self loathing. If you'd change your outlook you'd find that we DO fight disease and hunger around the globe, we humans contribute millions upon millions of charity dollars and works to help others....not to mention the tons of federal monies that are transferred to counties in aid. Is it the fault of charitable nations that aid money is stolen from the truly needy by their own corrupt govts? And as far as tolerance, we're so tolerant it's effin' sickening!

Hiram2 7 December 2010 - 3:43pm

"Is it the fault of charitable nations that aid money is stolen from the truly needy by their own corrupt govts? And as far as tolerance, we're so tolerant it's effin' sickening!"...Just like I stated we don't do anything for hungry people throughout out the world. When we do give, just like you stated, we act like we are giving but in reality we (the politicians and those in power) and those in power in the needy countries take the resources and monies for themselves. If we, the US, and Europe truely wanted to help those in need for food and freedom, we would hold those who steal the resources accountable but we don't. On an individual basis, there are humans who truely help those in need but on the national levels, there isn't any help. That is why there are so many millions starving in the world, today. We have teh resources but it doesn't get to the people who need it because we turn our heads to their plight of starvation. You might be right but I don't think you are.
