Foreign Minister Uri Rosenthal says the Netherlands is working together with the United States and other allies on possible steps against Iran.
“This is not something we are doing unilaterally, but in close consultation,” the minister said. He refused to answer the question what steps – if necessary - could be taken.
Mr Rosenthal said he was “very, very, very, really extremely concerned" about the alleged involvement of Iran in a terror plot against targets in the United States.
“Some indignation is called for,” the minister said.

Not so fast, Mr Rosenthal (and RNW for pushing this media hysteria by being a stenographer for the Foreign Minister). There’s this Reuters article, which — under the headline “Officials concede gaps in U.S. knowledge of Iran plot” — reports:
'Iran’s supreme leader and the shadowy Quds Force covert operations unit were likely aware of an alleged plot to kill Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, but hard evidence of that is scant, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.
'The United States does not have solid information about “exactly how high it goes,” one official said. . . .The U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said their confidence that at least some Iranian leaders were aware of the alleged plot was based largely on analyses and their understanding of how the Quds Force operates.'
Even with that knowledge, the damage has been done. Rosenthal and his upper echelon consultant cronies in the US (Clinton and Holder say what they're supposed to say, and Rosenthal goes along) have already instilled fear in the people they're supposed to serve.

my god… USA' s faithful vazal. Okay we have a centreRIGHT government so this kind of utterances shouldn't come as a too big surprice. But, it does hurt to see how the Netherlands is slipping down to harsher conservatism and predictability.

Maar, het doet wel zeer om te zien hoe behouden, voorspelbaar en onvoorstelbaar onderbuikerig en kruiperig al deze uitspraken zijn en, hoe relatief weinig weerstand ondervonden wordt van het grootste deel van de bevolking.
