Most of the Dutch citizens aboard the Dutch-Italian ship which forms part of the Freedom Flotilla are going home. The ship, which is carrying aid goods for the Gaza Strip, is currently at anchor in the port of the Greek island of Corfu.
The Greek authorities have barred the vessel from leaving port and said they would board it if it attempted to sail.
The flotilla consists of nine ships. It is not clear if any of the other eight ships will sail. The activists aboard the flotilla want to “break the illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip".
The first flotilla was stopped by the Israeli navy on 31 May 2010. Nine activists aboard the passenger ship MV Mavi Marmara were killed in clashes between the activists and Israeli commandos boarding the vessel.
