Marloes Nijmeijer in Colombia tracing Tanja

Published on 26 November 2010 - 8:49pm
More about:

Marloes Nijmeijer is in Colombia to persuade her sister Tanja to leave the FARC rebel movement.

Colombian media showed footage of Marloes Nijmeijer visiting an army radio studio in San Vicente del Caguán, in the south of Colombia, where her sister Tanja is thought to be hiding with the FARC rebels.

Marloes Nijmeijer is reportedly due to travel to La Macarena, the region where the Colombian army bombed a FARC camp, killing Tanja's commander Mono Jojoy. The army suspects Tanja may have been there, too, but it's not clear if she survived the bombing.

Marloes Nijmeijer has repeatedly voiced anger at her sister for joining the rebels and has called on her to desert.
