Magic money conmen arrested at Schiphol Airport

Published on 19 January 2011 - 2:29pm
More about:

The Dutch military police at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport have arrested three men for conning people with "magic money". The suspects were trying to sell a bottle of chemicals that would supposedly turn paper into bank notes.

The conmen had made an appointment with a customer who was supposed to pay 7500 euros for the bottle. They contacted him via email and promised he could literally make millions. The man had already picked up a suitcase containing paper at Schiphol Airport.

The customer however became suspicious and alarmed the police.

The three suspects, who had arranged to meet the customer on Tuesday evening to hand over the bottle of chemicals, were met by police instead.
