Lithuanian police arrest ADO fans

Published on 14 July 2011 - 9:26pm
More about:

ADO The Hague made a successful comeback in European club football Thursday, beating Lithuania’s FK Tauras 3-2. Some of their fans, however, did not get to celebrate the victory. Lithuanian police arrested 53 ADO supporters before the match in Kaunas.

"Of the 53, 43 were from Poland and 10 from the Netherlands,” said police spokeswoman Vitalija Gintautiene. ADO is a popular team among many Polish supporters of club Legia Warsaw.

Most of the arrests were made for aggressive behaviour, drunkenness and public disturbance.
