Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman has called for this weekend's Dutch Premier League matches to be called off because of the cold weather conditions.
The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) postponed all six First Division matches slated for Friday night because of wintry conditions, including severe frost and snowfall.
However, Friday night's Premier League fixture between sc Heerenveen and Roda JC Kerkrade was allowed to go ahead as planned. So far, only FC Twente's clash against De Graafschap has been cancelled.
Earlier on Friday, Koeman called on the KNVB to postpone all matches. The Feyenoord manager fears that under current weather conditions, the safety and welfare of fans is at risk.
"I think it is dangerous for people to sit in the stadiums in this weather," Koeman was quoted on Feyenoord's official website. His squad are scheduled to travel to Nijmegen to face NEC on Sunday.
