Indonesian security forces stormed Bali's Kerbokan prison around dawn Wednesday to end a riot at the jail, where several Australian inmates are housed, a police official said.
"Police and military forces entered the prison at about dawn. They were forced to open fire and three people were injured in the legs and taken to hospital," Bali deputy police chief Ketut Untung Sayoga told AFP.
"We are still trying to calm the situation down," he said.
Several Australians are housed in Kerobokan, including two on death row and six serving life sentences.
