Freedom Party renegade Hero Brinkman has announced he is forming his own party to take part in the next elections.
Appearing on the current affairs programme Pauw & Witteman he announced it would be called the Independent Citizens’ Party (OBP). He said this name should make it clear what the party will stand for and added that he had “enough good people” to put forward a list of candidates for the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
Brinkman, generally regarded as the Freedom Party’s greatest asset after Geert Wilders, left the party a few weeks ago over disagreements about a number of policies.
