Former Holland international Frank Rijkaard has signed a contract to coach Saudi Arabia's national football squad.
Sources close to the Saudi football federation told the AFP agency that the contract will not be formally announced until all the details have been finalised. An earlier contract between the Saudis and prospective coach Ricardo Gomes fell through at the latest moment, and the federation would not want to go through that again, the source said.
Rijkaard's contract with the Saudi federation would be for three years. He was recently fired by Turkey's Galatasaray following a string of poor results.
