Five Dutch universities in global top 100 by reputation

Five Dutch universities are among the world’s most well-regarded.

The UK magazine Times Higher Education published its World Reputation Rankings for 2012 on Thursday. Delft University of Technology came 51st, the highest Dutch ranking on the list which is based on a global survey among academics.

The universities of Amsterdam (71), Utrecht (78), Leiden (87) and Wageningen (100) are also among the top 100 universities by reputation.

The United States and the United Kingdom head the list with 44 and 10 universities respectively. First place went to Harvard University in the US.

The Netherlands shares third place with Japan, ahead of Germany, China, Australia and France.
