Feyenoord demand compensation from Denmark

Published on 3 February 2011 - 12:30pm
More about:

Rotterdam soccer club Feyenoord has submitted a claim for damages from the Danish football association. A spokesman has confirmed reports that Feyenoord are demanding compensation for the protracted injury affecting striker Jon Dal Tomasson.

Tomasson suffered damage to a tendon in June last year when he scored from a penalty during Denmark’s World Cup match against Japan. Doctors say he should have been taken off immediately but Danish coach Morten Olsen had already made three substitutions and kept him on the pitch.

Tomasson has been unable to play for Feyenoord since the World Cup injury.
