In the Dutch Premier League, FC Utrecht has beaten subtopper FC Groningen 1-0 at home. It is the fourth defeat for Grongingen in a row and the first time Utrecht has won for a while after a series of six draws.
The first half of the uneventful match was hardly worth watching, but things got better in the second half.
The one and only goal of the match was put in the net by Frank Demouge after a hour's play.
