More about:

FC Twente has won its fourth match in the Premier League.

The Enschede club beat VVV-Venlo 4-1 in a home game, putting them at the top of the league table. FC Twente players Bryan Ruiz, Luuk de Jong and Marc Janko each scored a goal during the first half, while Ahmed Musa scored VVV’s only goal. After half time, birthday boy Luuk de Jong scored his second goal of the match, bringing the final score to 4-1 for the Enschede squad.

RKC Waalwijk won its encounter with NAC Breda. RKC beat the Breda team 2-1 at home, their second victory in a row. After four matches NAC Breda are still waiting for their first victory. RKC player Evander Snow was the first to score, only ten minutes into the first half. In the final stages of the match, substitute Adil Auassar scored RKC’s second goal and Anthony Lurling scored for NAC.

In Nijmegen, NEC won their second home game of the season. Coach Alex Pastoor’s squad beat Heracles of Almelo 2-1. NEC were already firmly in the lead after only eight minutes, thanks to goals by Lasse Schöne and Nick van der Velden. Glynor Plet scored for Heracles just before half time, but the Almelo team were unable to create any more opportunities after that. NEC saw the return of goalie Gabor Babos after Jasper Cillesen’s transfer to Ajax.

Rodney Sneijder immediately proved his worth to his new employer FC Utrecht. A goal by the mid-fielder, who was leased from Ajax, helped the Utrecht team beat Roda JC 3-1. A goal by Mads Junker initially put Roda in the lead, but Tommy Oar scored the equaliser just before half-time. In the second half, goals by Sneijder and Jacob Mulenga decided the match in favour of the home team.
